If you want to have the quickest, most luxurious sports car in your neighborhood, get the 2024 Ford Mustang. This freshly redesigned fastback coupe or convertible has break-neck acceleration and a suave interior. Other sports cars like the Chevy Camaro and Toyota GR86 are also athletic, but they can’t match the Mustang’s overall performance and interior quality. Riverside Autoplex of Poteau built the following comparison to show you why.
Performance
Standard Acceleration
One of the main reasons to drive sports cars is their speed. Faster cars are easier to merge onto busy highways in Pocola. The 2024 Ford Mustang comes standard with a turbocharged 315-horsepower four-cylinder engine that can slingshot it from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The Mustang Dark Horse has a 500-horsepower V8 motor that enables it to sprint from 0 to 60 in around four seconds.
The new Chevy Camaro actually produces more horsepower than the Mustang, but it doesn’t translate into faster acceleration. When equipped with its base 335-horsepower V6 engine, the Camaro takes 5.2 seconds to get to 60 mph from a standstill.
The new Toyota GR86 is a peppy sports car, but its lone engine only puts out 228 horsepower. It requires 6.1 seconds to get from 0 to 60.
Fuel Economy
Even if you drive a sports car, you’ll still want to spend as little of your hard-earned dollars at the gas pump as possible. Mena drivers who want to pay less for fuel will appreciate that the 2024 Ford Mustang returns 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway when properly equipped.
The new Chevy Camaro only earns 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway in its most efficient configuration.
The new Toyota GR86 returns just 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway when equipped with its optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Interior
Cabin Materials and Styling
You’ll be spending a lot of time inside your car, so you may as well get one with attractive, plush materials. The recently refreshed 2024 Ford Mustang has a modern cockpit with more soft-touch surfaces, updated upholstery options, and a pair of large displays for the infotainment system and gauge cluster. People in Greenwood will like the Mustang’s standard flat-bottom steering wheel and available contrast stitching.
The new Chevy Camaro has a retro-styled interior that’s solidly built. However, it also has lots of hard plastics and an awkwardly angled touchscreen that seems cheap and poorly arranged.
The new Toyota GR86 has a plain cabin with few thrills or stylistic touches. Though it’s put together well, the GR86’s interior has numerous hard plastic surfaces that detract from its appearance.
Cargo Space
You need a spacious cargo hold if you want to bring luggage or sports gear with you on trips. Poteau drivers will like the 2024 Ford Mustang coupe’s trunk, which provides 13.5 cubic feet of space to stow cargo. Convertible models have 11.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
The new Chevy Camaro coupe only has 9.1 cubic feet of cargo space in its trunk. Convertible models have just 7.3 cubic feet of room for cargo.
The new Toyota GR86 has a tiny, 6.2 cubic-foot trunk.
